First Conference! Time To Prep!

I am really excited to be preparing to present at my first conference: How To Make Math Count, presented by Nassau County Math Teachers Association (NCMTA). After Covid and having my two kids, I am thrilled to once again be participating in NCMTA’s wonderful professional development opportunities. This year’s conference is sure to be amazing! It will be held on January 5th, 2024 at Molloy University in Long Island, NY.

Graph Theory: A Network of Possibilities is the title of my presentation. After the conference, I will write a post with my observations, self-assessment and “ah-ha!” moments from the day. So far, my presentation is rounding out to be really interesting. My goal is to help K-8 educators and stakeholders see that any topic can be differentiated and tailored to meet the needs of any group: based on grade-level, background knowledge, interest…anything!

Graph Theory is typically believed to be a high-level topic, but many K-8 educators unknowingly use it in their every day teaching practices. I hope to illuminate these educators to see that Graph Theory truly has a network of possibilities for all learners.

Wish me luck!
